21.1.13 - Moor Reason and Mali - the 2 could go together.

Certainly More Reason is needed in Mali, not sure I'd recommend Moor Reason to go there at the moment - you need your fingers to make more wonderful music like we heard on the show on Monday (21.1.13).

Lee Coatham, singer and guitarist and bass master Paul China, from Moor Reason came on to the show  to play some music from the band's new EP - recorded in the Sound Gallery recording studio next door to the Phonic studio.

While the mad Mullahs of Mali are busy making life as miserable as they can for the people of Northern Mali Roots and Shoots featured Malian music in solidarity with the people there, although they will be very unlikely to hear it since those jolly Islamists have confiscated (stolen to you and me) radios, mobile phones, computers and TVs - anything that may broadcast music, from the population and threatened to cut off the fingers of any one found playing a musical instrument!

So while they are busy getting ready to mutilate musicians not to mention women, as is their wont, I  played Malian music to annoy a Mullah with, especially including some amazing women singers and musicians. It may be a futile gesture but I hope somebody noticed and maybe someone in Northern Mali will get the message that there is some hope around the corner.
