Jason Rice on accordian and melodeon player Mark Bazeley for all the information and entertainment in the first part of the show this evening.

The 35th anniversary Dartmoor Folk Festival is a feast of music, dance and song and runs from 10 to 12 August. Details here.

From Maggie & Mike's beautiful new album Nine Turns Of The Moon we played Three Times Three and the title track.
In the studio Maggie and Mike performed Maggie's own songs Peace For The Child and Cheap Daily Life and the traditional song The Parting Glass. As well as singing, Maggie played guitar and Mike played guitar, whistle and harmonica. A superb session.

Chordial gave us a great session.They performed songs written by Robert Spence. They were V8 Blues, Quick Sand and Coming Up For Air.
Robert sang and played guitar and harmonica, accompanied on guitar by Kris.
From Chordial's album Chordial we heard Shelter (with lead vocals by Jade Johnson) and Perfume In The Air.

We thank the trio
Cross Border, Gwyneth, Brian and Peter, who were our guests in the second half of rootsandshoots today. All contributed lead vocals as well as lilting harmonies. Peter and Brian played, respectively, lead guitar and rhythm guitar.

Eastern Europe / Music from Tattie Jam

The bulk of the music this evening was from Eastern Europe, an area with a rich cultural heritage. We played a wide variety of musical styles. 

Thank you very much to Seylan Baxter and Ruaridh Pringle - Tattie Jam - for telling us about their music and touring. They sing beautiful harmonies and play wonderful (mainly Scottish) music on a variety of instruments - including guitar, didgeridoo, mandolin and electric cello. 
We played two tracks from their excellent album JamThe Doctor's Dochter and The Summer Shower.
