Some really great bluesy, rootsy music from 
Alex Kumar on rootsandshoots tonight. 

Alex sang and played his superb arrangements of Dawes' That Western Skyline and the Bob Dylan classic Don't Think Twice, It's Alright.

From Alex's debut album, simply called Alex Kumar, we played his own song 1963 which is proving a big hit with audiences plus two other self-penned songs, I Just Received The News and Love (Or The Next Best Thing). 

Alex Kumar's Album Launch with support from Slipdown Dog is this Friday 15 November at The Revelry, Exeter Quay. Doors open at 20:30. Buy his CD there.

An exciting new event in the run-up to Exeter LGBT Pride is the Ceilidh for Exeter Pride, with live music from One Night Only led by Jason Rice of the renowned Dartmoor Pixie Band.

Dances will be led by Martin Hodge 
(from rootsandshoots) and Simon Maplesden, both well used to getting dancers on their feet and ensuring people have a great time.

This is a Barn Dance style evening with fantastic danceable music.

Absolutely everyone is welcome and no experience is necessary.

Enjoy a song spot by the inimitable Jim Causley.

Fun and gales of laughter are guaranteed. Keep calm and Ceilidh on!

It was a three hour show today beginning at 17:00. Partly retrospective - particularly focusing on musicians who had been into the studio for rootsandshoots in 2011. Partly looking forward to musical happenings this year. Martin Henning contributed some food and drink related items!
